Sidestory: My Parents in Washington, DC

 

My parents began their married life in a basement apartment next to the US Supreme Court in Washington DC. They worked for the Library of Congress which was just across the street which made for a very short commute. This is a picture of my mother in that apartment in a dress my father brought back from China. The world was at war, a war that would upend their lives in a few short years.
